30th December 2025 - (Hong Kong) Hong Kong equities opened broadly unchanged on Monday, with the benchmark Hang Seng Index edging up by 1 point to start the session at 25,636. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index climbed 10 points, or 0.12%, to 8,902, while the Hang Seng Tech Index advanced 20 points, or 0.37%, to 5,503.
Technology counters showed a mixed performance in early trading. Tencent Holdings added 0.34%, JD.com rose 0.8%, while Meituan slipped 0.19%. Alibaba Group and Xiaomi Corp were little changed, and Kuaishou Technology declined 0.55%.
Financials were generally softer at the open. HSBC Holdings retreated 0.57%, AIA Group fell 0.3%, and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing eased 0.2%.
Among individual names, electric vehicle maker Nio surged by about 5%, while semiconductor manufacturer SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation) gained 2.8%.
