13th October 2026 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened 99 points, or 0.4 per cent, lower at 24,172, while the China Enterprises Index slipped 32 points, or 0.39 per cent, to 8,136. The Hang Seng Tech Index fell 39 points, or 0.95 per cent, to 4,129 as early trading pointed to a softer tone across the market.
Large technology counters were mixed. Tencent Holdings eased 1.1 per cent and Alibaba edged down 0.4 per cent, while Meituan rose 0.1 per cent and Xiaomi Group advanced 0.8 per cent. JD.com retreated 2.9 per cent and Kuaishou shed 1.7 per cent.
Financial shares generally weakened. HSBC Holdings dipped 0.1 per cent, AIA Group declined 0.5 per cent and Ping An Insurance slipped 0.1 per cent. Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing was unchanged.
