19th December 2024 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened lower by 254 points or 1.28%, standing at 19,610 points; the H-share index dropped by 89 points or 1.24%, settling at 7,091 points; and the technology index declined by 75 points or 1.69%, closing at 4,393 points.
In the tech sector, Tencent fell by 0.9%; Alibaba dropped by 1.6%; Meituan decreased by 1.7%; Xiaomi Group was down by 1.9%; JD.com fell by 1.4%; and Kuaishou dropped by 1.3%.
Financial stocks exhibited softness, with HSBC Holdings declining by 1.2%; AIA Group falling by 2%; Ping An of China dropping by 1.4%; and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing down by 1.7%.
